International driving licence
The international driving licence is a "translation" of your national licence and is therefore only valid together with it. You must therefore always be able to produce both.
Before starting your journey, find out whether an international driving licence is mandatory at your destination or whether the car rental company may require an international driving licence. You can find an overview of the countries here.
You have the option of having your international driving licence issued at our office.

We need
- Original driving licence in credit card format (no copy)
- a passport photo
- CHF 40.- per driving licence
You do not need to appear in person as long as you have your original driving licence.
You can also order the international driving licence by post. Please send us the following documents:

- Franked reply envelope (preferably registered) with your address
The international driving licence will be issued and sent to you within three working days. No liability is assumed for the dispatch. We therefore recommend that you send the documents by registered post to the following address.

Tourist tax
The tourist tax is levied on guests staying in the area covered by Brig-Simplon Tourism. Guests receive the guest card from the accommodation provider when they pay the tourist tax.

With the association bus, Simplon Tourism has responded to the need for greater flexibility when doing activities in the mountains. Hotels and other businesses can drive guests to the starting points for hikes and ski tours, or pick them up afterwards.
